Five miles of queuing traffic have built up on the M56 near Manchester Airport following a crash.
The smash, between two cars, happened on the eastbound stretch between junction 7 for Bowdon and junction 6 for Wilmslow Road.
One lane was closed following the crash at around 6.50am.
As of 8am, there were delays of around 35 minutes.

Traffic website Inrix posted about the crash, saying: "One lane is closed, and there are long delays and queuing traffic for five miles due to an accident between two cars on the M56 Eastbound from J7 for Bowdon to J6 for Wilmslow Road.
"There is congestion to J9.
"Travel time is around 35 minutes.
"Lane four (of four) is closed. Due to the extent of damage to the vehicles, they are unable to be moved and are awaiting recovery."
