There are five miles of delays on the M62 in Leeds after two lanes were closed for emergency repairs.
Traffic is expected to get worse through the rush hour approaches after Highways England had to close two lanes on the westbound carriageway for 'major pothole repair'.
The agency says there are around five miles of delays from junction 29 at Lofthouse to junction 27 at Gildersome.
It is advising drivers use alternative routes.
Our traffic partner INRIX says a lane will need to remain closed for the rest of the day (Thursday) for repairs to take place.
Highways England has estimated that conditions will return to normal at around 8pm.
