Five Merseyside restaurants have been shortlisted for 2020's Restaurant of the Year.

The Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2020 will hold its award ceremony where the winner will be announced on May 14 at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.

The five businesses are Delifonseca Dockside, Fazenda Rodizio Bar & Grill, Gusto Albert Dock, L20 Restaurant and Rockwood Bistro.

The awards aims to recognise excellence across the city region’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Peter Sandman, head of visitor economy for Growth Platform – Liverpool City Region Growth Company, said: “Every year those shortlisted reflects the high standard and strong competition of the tourism industry across the region.

"Growth in this sector is healthy with latest figures showing that the local visitor economy is now worth over £4.9bn and employs more than 57,000 people.

"Over 60m people visit each year for work and for leisure and we hope that this shortlist highlights that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

“Holding the event in such a stunning venue will create a very special atmosphere for a wonderful evening.”
