Five men caught at Cornbrook with pants down after hiding bottles of booze in underwear

Five men have been caught with their pants down after police stopped them and found unopened alcohol bottles stuffed into their underwear.

Greater Manchester Police in Manchester City Centre tweeted at 2.19am today (Tuesday) that the quintet had been stopped on suspicion of theft at Cornbrook, which features a tram stop to the south-west of the city centre, by transport unit officers.

Referring to a "pants party", amused officers told the suspects "nice try, lads; but better luck next time".

The message said: "#GMTransportUnit at Cornbrook tonight stop searched 5xlads RE sus theft, and located several unopened alcohol bottles down their pants - nice try, lads; but better luck next time! #PantsParty #GMTravelSafe."
