Five Man City players included in England squad as Phil Foden recalled

Gareth Southgate has named five Manchester City players in his latest England squad.

Phil Foden is recalled after missing the last squad through injury, joining John Stones, Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling in the Three Lions squad to face Andorra and Hungary - with the chance to secure qualification for the 2022 World Cup possible depending on other results.

Stones has only played for England so far this season, with injuries and good form for Aymeric Laporte preventing him from running out for City. With Harry Maguire injured, Stones is likely to get two more games to play his way into form over the international break.

Walker faces a usual fight for the right-back spot, although Trent Alexander-Arnold misses out through injury, while Grealish, Foden and Sterling will be fighting for one of the three front places in Southgate's starting XI. Foden is listed as a midfielder in the squad, with Grealish and Sterling down as forwards.

Meanwhile, Spain have called up Aymeric Laporte, Rodri and Ferran Torres for their Nations League finals fixtures, as have Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Sillva for Portugal. Zack Steffen has also been selected by the USA. Ilkay Gundogan is definitely out for Germany with injury.

Full England squad:

Johnstone, Pickford, Ramsdale; Coady, James, Mings, Shaw, Stones , Tomori, Trippier, Walker ; Foden , Henderson, Lingard, Mount, Phillips, Rice; Grealish , Kane, Saka, Sancho, Sterling , Watkins.
