CHANDIGARH: Five people, including an NRI, were killed after their vehicle fell into a canal in Punjab's Ludhiana district, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place when Jatinder Singh, who recently returned from Canada, along with his five friends, was returning after meeting his relative at Lehal village in the Khanna area on Monday night, they said.
The vehicle lost control and fell into the Sirhind canal near Jagera village, they said.
Station House Officer Maloud Gurdeep Singh said Jatinder Singh and four others were killed and one person survived the incident.
