Five inspired ways to enjoy wine with friends

Granted there is pleasure to be found in a glass of wine enjoyed at home at the end of a very long day. However, the best wine experiences are undoubtedly those involving friends. Check out this list of wine-friendly activities below…

Host a tapas night

Organising a tapas night with your mates requires little more effort than taking a quick trip to the supermarket. Choose a wine that is easily paired with all dishes on your Spanish-themed menu: flash-fried Padrón peppers, slivers of succulent Serrano ham, paprika-packed chorizo and aioli-dressed patatas bravas.

Enjoy CampoViejo with tapas

A relaxing wine-themed movie night

Why not make a movie night experience that extra bit special – invite some friends round and settle into a movie complementing your beverage of choice. Sideways – a Paul Giamatti comedy about a wine-tasting trip around California – or A Good Year, a Russell Crowe rom-com where love blossoms in a Provence vineyard, are best enjoyed with friends.

Hire a private chef

Hire a private chef to come in and cook for you and your guests. Chef in my Kitchen has a legion of chefs on its books, ready to serve up such fine-dining dishes as fresh mussels and clam linguine. For a Spanish experience, La Belle Assiette delivers on tapas, with chefs who can dish up such mouth-watering plates as chorizo and sweet potato tortillas, washed down with jugs of freshly made sangria.

Host a dinner party

Go out wine tasting

How many of us know about wine? As in, really know about it? Seize the day and find out now by booking into one of the fantastic wine-tasting events currently on offer around the capital. Once you’ve found out a little more about wine it might be worthwhile learning how much better it can taste when paired with the right food.

Get creative with a BYOB creativity night

Drink and draw at BYOB creativity nights

For something totally different, have you ever considered a BYOB creativity night? Creoate has put together some inspired options: from painting ceramics in East London, to a molecular gastronomy dinner with a Spanish chef in South West London. Alternatively, M.Y.O (Make Your Own) has some fun options, too – from constructing your own Christmas crackers in Peckham, to making your own Christmas jumper and stocking in Borough.

Why not organise an informal gathering with friends and family around a bottle of Campo Viejo? For more inspiration, visit campoviejo.com and follow on Facebook and Instagram @campoviejouk
