Five hurt when pick-up slams into tree

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: Five people, including two young boys, were injured after a pick-up truck they were travelling in slammed into a tree on a road median in Tham Phannara district on Sunday morning.

Pol Capt Pornsak Kwanmuang, a Tham Phannara police investigator, said the accident occurred at about 7am on Highway 41 near Moo 7 village in tambon Dusit.

Anan Lenphet, 42, the pick-up driver, told police that he was driving through heavy fog when he suddenly saw another vehicle in front. This caused him to swerve and crash into a tree on the road median.

He and four other people in the pickup were injured, including two boys aged 10 and 11. All are relatives who were heading from Satun to visit another family members in Chumphon province. They were admitted to Tham Phannara Hospital and were reported to be out of danger.
