Five held for 'selling' Jharsuguda woman for Rs 1.5 lakh

JHARSUGUDA: Five persons have been arrested in Jharsuguda for allegedly selling a 20-year-old married woman from the district to a man in MP for Rs 1.5 lakh.

The SP said while three of the accused -- Hrushikesh Sethi (29) of Sonepur, Danish Behera (18) and Kiran Sethi (30) of Jharsuguda were arrested on April 9, Supriya Prajapati (25) and Manoj Prajapati (28) from MP were arrested on Wednesday. The arrests were made following a complaint by the woman's husband on April 7.
