Five Guys confirms opening date for new Trafford burger restaurant

American burger giant Five Guys has confirmed its latest Manchester opening - bringing its famous brand of giant burgers, hot dogs and milkshakes to Urmston for the first time.

The fast food restaurant will open its new base at Trafford Retail Park in Urmston - just a mile down the road from the very first place in Manchester it launched inside the Trafford Centre back in 2014.

The new launch comes amid a period of rapid UK expansion for the American burger chain, with works also underway for a new Five Guys in a prominent location on Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester.

Five Guys have yet to give a confirmed date for the Piccadilly launch, but the new Trafford Retail Park restaurant will officially open to the public from Monday November 22.

Five Guys is famous for its towering burgers (Five Guys)

Founded in Virginia in 1986 and launched in the UK in 2013 in London’s Covent Garden, the American-diner style restaurant has fast become one of the UK’s most popular burger restaurants.

It has amassed a loyal fanbase – with superstar fans including Tom Hardy, Mollie King, Ed Sheeran and Maya Jama all pictured enjoying their Five Guys in the recent past.

The restaurant is known for its boast of over 250,000 possible burger order combinations - where you can choose as many as added options like gherkins, mushrooms, crispy bacon and relish for free.

There are also said to be over 1,000 possible ways to customise their milkshakes, helping to make Five Guys something of a social media hit.

The Urmston branch has been built on the fast-developing Trafford Retail Park on Neary Way, just off Junction 10 of the M60 and close to the Trafford Centre.

It will compete for a slice of the fast food market alongside the likes of titans McDonald's, Nando's, KFC and Pizza Hut at the site.

The retail park is also home to B&M, Home Bargains, Aldi, TK Maxx and a Starbucks drive through among other retailers.
