Five fire engines raced to fight Alyth house blaze

A strong fire and rescue response was required to fight a blaze in a house in Alyth last night.

Five appliances raced to the town's Albert Street at around 9.26pm yesterday evening (February 6) to tackle the flames.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.26pm on Thursday, February 6 to reports of a house fire in Alyth, Perth and Kinross.

“Operations Control mobilised five appliances to the town’s Albert Street, where firefighters were met by a well-developed fire within a single storey property.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire and thereafter left the scene.

“There were no casualties.”
