Five of Edinburgh's restaurants have been named Scotland's 'most beautiful' by a top travel mag ahead of the hospitality industry getting set to partially reopen next week.
The team at Conde Nast Traveler have picked out their favourite venues from across the country for incredible cuisine amongst stunning surroundings and - unsurprisingly to us - Edinburgh restaurants feature heavily in the list.
The list contained 12 amazing places to eat with your eyes as well as your stomach, including seven further afield from the capital, including the Isle of Mull, St Andrews and the Cairngorms.
So who made it on the list from Edinburgh?
Top Edinburgh venue, The Wichery by the Castle, which regularly features on lists of beautiful eateries for its gothic decor, was joined by the Scandi-style Timberyard, which was described as "one of Edinburgh’s best seasonal restaurants".
The Gardener’s Cottage on London Road was hailed as "quaint, cosy and airy" and praised the home-grown vegetables and herb gardens out front.
Newcomer city centre restaurant Noto, headed up by Stuart Ralston who was recently a competitor on Great British Menu, was praised for its "sleek" interior, with its dangling exposed bulbs and minimal dark furniture. (A tip from team EL: order the crab butter, you won't regret it).
Finally one of the city's top cheesemongers IJ Mellis also represented Edinburgh with its new sit in eatery in Morningside being described as the "UK’s answer to a Parisian wine bar".
