Five deaths and 345 cases recorded in NSW

FIVE more people have died as NSW added 345 additional cases to its COVID-19 tally.

Vaccination rates continue to climb steadily, with 92.7 per cent of people over the age of 16 vaccinated with one dose. For double doses, the figure is 83 per cent.

The new cases were detected through 76,594 tests conducted during the 24-hour period to 8pm on Thursday.

Across the state there are 482 people in hospital and 125 in intensive care.

A more detailed update is due at 11am, which is expected to include details of those who died and a regional breakdown of where the fresh cases were found.

There were no new cases from overseas arrivals.
