Six dead in shooting at youth centre in German town of Stade

  • Six people have been killed in a shooting at a youth centre in Stade, northern Germany , according to police.
  • German media reports initially said four women and one man were dead, but police later said a sixth adult ‌had died in hospital of wounds. A German police official said the victims were employees of the centre, not residents.
  • The alleged shooter is a 45-year-old male German citizen with Turkish roots, the German police official added.
  • Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, including the suspected shooter, and a third suspect is under investigation.
  • Authorities believe there is no further danger to the public in Stade, a city situated approximately 50km west of Hamburg.
