Antonio Conte has left Inter Milan despite leading his side to the Serie A title this season.
The ex-Chelsea, Italy and Juventus manager was left furious with Inter's plan to sell a number of top players this summer to help deal with their perilous financial situation.
Now he has departed via mutual consent, a club statement simply declaring: "FC Internazionale Milano announces that it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with the coach Antonio Conte.
"The whole club would like to thank Antonio for the extraordinary work he has done, which culminated in winning the nineteenth Scudetto. Antonio Conte will remain forever in the history of our club."
Given Conte's success with Inter and impressive reputation in the world of football he is likely to have no shortage of potential suitors if he does indeed depart.
And here are five of the clubs who could potentially have their eye on the 51-year-old...
Real Madrid
Following Real Madrid's disappointing campaign, Zinedine Zidane's position is very much under threat at the Bernabeu.
And the Frenchman has done little to play down the rumours of him leaving recently, cryptically claiming that "there are moments when you have to change."
If Zidane does move on, there are not too many managers available in football with as impressive a CV as Conte.
Having never managed in Spain he may well fancy the challenge of a new style of football, and the offer to take charge of arguably the biggest team in the world is one which not many are able to turn down.
Tottenham
Spurs are still on the hunt for a new permanent manager, and Conte could be just the man they are looking for.
He had a highly successful two years at Chelsea between 2016-18, winning the Premier League title in his first season with the Blues, and the temptation to return for a second spell in England may be one Conte is highly interested in.
Daniel Levy would also see his appointment as a massive coup in a bid to get fans back on his side following Spurs' disastrous 2020-21 campaign and the farce surrounding the European Super League.

And given their standing as one of the richest clubs around at the moment, Spurs should have no problems in offering Conte the wages he is looking for.
The prospect of Conte and Levy working together is a potentially explosive one, however, and it will be intriguing to see whether the Spurs chairman is able to lure the Italian to north London.
PSG
Could Paris Saint-Germain be tempted to abandon their Mauricio Pochettino project in favour of Conte?
The Argentinean has hardly pulled up trees since his arrival after being knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage and failing to secure first place in Ligue 1.
There are some rumours that Pochettino is unhappy in Paris, and could make a shock return to Spurs if he can patch things up with Levy.
Where should Conte go next? Comment below
And there could perhaps be a temptation from all parties to make a change, with Conte seemingly about to be waiting in the wings to step into Pochettino's shoes.
Napoli
If Conte's preference is to remain in Italy, there is a recently-opened position available at Napoli.
Their manager Gennaro Gattuso recently announced his departure after his side narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification with a fifth-placed finish in Serie A, and he will take on Fiorentina from the start of next season.
Napoli are, of course, a huge club historically, and Conte might relish the challenge of putting them back in the big-time.
On the other hand, he could well see it as a step down considering they will not be involved in Europe's elite competition next season, and there are also question marks over how Napoli would be able to afford his wage demands.

FC Porto
Another club of a similar size to Napoli who could have a position open soon are Portuguese outfit FC Porto.
There are reports that Napoli themselves could turn to Porto's current boss Sergio Conceicao, who looks almost certain to leave this summer.
And that means they could well make an ambitious attempt to convince Conte to take up the helm at the Estadio do Dragao.
The ability to offer Champions League football gives Porto a bonus, along with the prospect of living in a beautiful city and new league that Conte is yet to experience.
However, he may again see it as a step down, and is potentially more likely to wait for an opening at one of the elite clubs.
