Five fugitive board members of an Indian temple where a fire killed at least 110 people have surrendered to face prosecution, according to police.
A police spokesman said the five were taken into custody late on Monday by officers investigating the blaze on Sunday at the Hindu Puttingal Devi temple complex in the village of Parador in Kerala state.
Rescue workers were sifting through the debris for clues about how an unauthorised fireworks display sparked the fire.
Police are investigating temple board members and associates of fireworks contractors for possible charges of attempted murder and culpable homicide, both punishable by life imprisonment, and illegally storing explosives.
Besides the deaths in the blaze, more than 300 people were injured.
