Five arrests after string of violent Grangemouth attacks left three people hospitalised

Five people have been arrested following a string of violent attacks in Grangemouth.

Three people were left hospitalised with serious injuries after the being attacked by a group of people.

Now police have charged three men, aged 29, 30 and 38, and two women, aged 27 and 30, in connection with serious assaults.

The alarm was raised after incidents allegedly broke out on Tinto Drive on Saturday, 27 February, and Islay Court on Monday, 1 March.

During the first incident, a 38-year-old man suffered a serious injury and was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment.

A 34-year-old man was also taken to hospital following the second incident for treatment to a serious injury.

They have all also been charged in connection with possessing an offensive weapon following a disturbance at a property on Lumley Place on Wednesday, 24 February.

Officers have also charged the three men and 30-year-old woman in connection with a disturbance on Cultenhove Crescent on Sunday, 21 February, during which a 31-year-old man sustained a serious injury and was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

They are all due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 2 March.

Detective Inspector Craig Higgins said: "There is no place for violent behaviour in our society. If you have any concerns about criminal activity in your local community, please contact police on 101, or 999 in an emergency."
