Five arrested as cash and drugs seized in Bootle during two police 'incidents'

Five people have been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs - and a substantial amount of cash was seized - during two separate incidents in the Bootle area last night, say police.

Mer Pol South Sefton tweeted at 1.42am today (Saturday) that officers also seized 130 wraps of Class A drugs during the operations carried out under Operation Pelican, an ongoing campaign launched in the Liverpool area area to combat the drug trade and gang violence.

It said: "Operation Pelican Officers have this evening arrested 5 adults all for Drug Supply Offences in two separate incidents in the #Bootle area. During these incidents approximately 130 wraps of Class A drugs have been seized along with a substantial amount of cash."
