In an update issued on Facebook, local officers said a full investigation is currently underway into these robberies and so far five arrests have been made in connection with the incidents.
No further details about the arrests have been disclosed.
"We understand the concern these incidents have caused for our communities and public safety is our top priority," GMP Stockport said.
"We have increased our visibility in the target areas and across this weekend we have drafted in extra resources - including specialist officers - to ensure we can swiftly identify, disrupt and arrest any offenders.
"Whilst we will do all we can to keep you safe I would urge the public to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times.
"Thieves only need a matter of seconds to steal a moped, scooter or motorcycle - especially if they are left with poor security."
