Five areas of the Liverpool City Region see drops in Covid infections

The Liverpool City Region recorded falls in positive Covid test in five areas.

According to the latest data from Public Health England, the Liverpool City Region recorded 5,603 positive tests in the seven days ending September 10 - 281 fewer cases than the previous seven days.

This means the percentage change week on week fall in the Liverpool City Region was 5%.

In the five areas of the city region which saw the percentage change week on week fall, the changes were: Liverpool with a 4% drop; Knowsley with an 18% fall; Sefton with a 5% fall; Wirral with an 8% fall; and Halton with a 4% fall.

St Helens was the only place in the city region which recorded a rise in its percentage change week on week figure - it saw a 13% rise.

Warrington saw a rise in positive Covid infections. Cheshire West and Chester, and West Lancashire recorded falls.

England recorded rises in positive tests in the week ending September 10. The country had 173,876 coronavirus cases, which is 10,289 more cases than the week before.

Liverpool

Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,810 cases in the week ending September 10, which is 69 fewer cases than in the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 4%.

The latest infection rate was 361.7 cases per 100,000 people.

Halton

There were 554 positive tests over the last week, which is 25 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 4% in the week ending September 10. The latest infection rate is 426.9 cases per 100,000 people.

Knowsley

There was a total of 624 cases in the week ending September 10, which is 132 fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 409.3 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 18% week on week.

Wirral

There were 1,003 positive tests in the week ending September 10, which is 83 fewer cases than in the previous week. Wirral's week-on-week percentage change decreased by 8%. The latest infection rate was 309.2 cases per 100,000 people.

St Helens

There were 641 positive tests in the week ending September 10, which is 75 more cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate was 354.0 cases per 100,000 people. The week-on-week percentage change increased by 13%.

Sefton

There was a total of 971 cases in the week ending September 10, which is 47 fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 351.9 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 5% week on week.

Liverpool City Region

There were 5,603 positive tests over in the week ending September 10, which is 281 fewer cases than in the previous week.

This means the week on week percentage change decreased by 5%. The latest infection rate is 329.06 cases per 100,000 people.

West Lancs

West Lancashire recorded 379 coronavirus cases in the week ending September 10, which is 94 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

This mean there was a week on week percentage decrease of 20% in infections. The infection rate was 331.01 per 100,000 people.

Warrington

There were 712 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending September 10, which is seven more cases than the previous week.

The week on week percentage figure increased by 1%. There was an infection rate of 340.03 per 100,000 people.

Cheshire West and Chester

There were 1,418 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending September 10, which is 47 fewer cases than the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 412.42 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage decrease of 3% in cases.

England

In England in the week ending September 10, there was an infection rate of 307.47 per 100,000 people.

The nation recorded 173,876 coronavirus cases, which is 10,289 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

There was a week on week percentage decrease of 6% in cases.
