A fitness model was found dead by her mother having been stabbed numerous times and shot in the head.
Alondra Getsemani Villasenor's body was discovered in her home in the city of Tijuana, North West Mexico.
The 23-year-old's mum had gone to check on her after she tried to contact the model but received no answer.
She found her daughter with several stab wounds in her body and a single bullet wound to the head.
Local police reportedly found two bags of cannabis and the shell of a 9mm calibre bullet at the scene.
Getsemani Villasenor, who worked in a local gym as a trainer, was found on November 17.
Local authorities believe she had been dead for more than 24 hours.
Some witnesses said they had seen a man leave the house and drive away in a red car.
The investigation is ongoing and there are not any suspects or arrests reported.
No motive has been provided for the crime.
The young woman had amassed a fairly large Facebook following on a page featuring videos of her gym routine.
According to the Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System, 155 women have been murdered in the state of Baja California this year.
The state is fourth on the list for most murder cases of women in the country behind Mexico State, Guanajuato, and Jalisco.
