Fitness fanatic Gemma Atkinson is preparing an active lifestyle for her baby

Mum-to-be Gemma Atkinson is known for her love of exercise, and she's revealed that she wants her child to follow in her footsteps.

Gemma, whose partner is Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez, plans to show their baby a healthy and active lifestyle - and they've already made preparations.

Speaking in this week's issue of OK! Magazine the Hits Radio presenter says she's determined to make her own fresh meals for the baby from scratch.

She said: "I absolutely want my child to have an active, healthy lifestyle. I’ve already bought a mini blender so I can make their food instead of buying packet stuff.

"People have said ‘You won’t have time’ but it’s all I’ve known for the past nine years. I like knowing what’s going in my body and thankfully Gorka is the same and he’s a fabulous cook."

Sharing videos of her workout last week Gemma, who is 30 weeks pregnant, said: "I always sleep brilliantly after Pilates and I feel great too. Baby rocks to sleep during every session which I find so cute."

The couple have been documenting their journey to parenthood since they announced the happy news that they're expecting a baby on February 1.

Gemma, from Bury, has been sharing her pregnancy fitness routines with her followers on social media.
