Fitbit launch Ace 3 fitness tracker for kids and you can pre-order it online now

Struggling to keep your kids active during lockdown?

Fitbit have launched the new Fitbit Ace 3, a next generation activity and sleep tracker makes it fun and easy for kids aged from six years old to get active and introduce healthy habits with the whole family.

The new tracker is available for pre-order today from Fitbit.com and also from major retailers Amazon and Currys PC World. It will officially go on sale with worldwide availability starting from 15th March 2021.

With the popularity of Fitbit Ace products, the new Ace 3 smart watch, which retails at £69.99, features longer battery life, new interactive clock faces and a kid-friendly design with playful accessories (the new Minions™ options are will soon be available).

With an easy setup process using a Fitbit Family account, parents can pair the Ace 3 with Android and iOS devices to keep track of their child's movements throughout the day. Kids who have their own smartphones will be able to receive call notifications directly on-wrist to stay connected to their parents, family and friends too.

The pandemic has obviously curtailed exercise opportunities for kids, and the lack of routine has led to a significant increase in screen time. According to the 2021 Childwise Monitor Report lockdown has led to increased screen time for kids of all ages, particularly in the 11-12 year-old age group who spent on average 4.2 hours online in last autumn, up from 3.3 hours for the same period in 2019 - a rise of nearly 30%.

To combat the effects of prolonged lockdowns, the Ace 3 helps motivate kids to get moving and reach their 60 minutes of daily activity whether that be achieved through walking, running or playing football in the garden. The device also has reminders to take at least 250 steps per hour, with an option to customise during school time.

In addition, kids can easily set personalised goals and track their activity by reviewing their stats on the easy-to-use touchscreen. Sleep tracking, bedtime reminders and silent alarms help parents and kids work together to develop a consistent sleep schedule, which gives kids enough time to rest and energise for another day of staying active.
