Fishing rods 'with great sentimental value' stolen

Fishing roads "with great sentimental value" worth almost £8,000 have been stolen from a garage in South Gloucestershire.

The equipment was a present to the victim from his late mother and some of the rods have been engraved with the words “Something Special.”

They were taken from a garage in Olympus Close in Little Stoke at about 9.40pm on February 26.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has said it wants members of the public – particularly anglers and second-hand shops - to be vigilant in their search for the equipment.

A police spokesperson said: "We would like anyone who may be offered items matching those in the images to contact us.
