PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: Three fishing boat crewmen crashed their employer's car into a river after drinking at a party and then driving through a curfew checkpoint.
Police chased a green Toyota car after the driver ignored a signal to stop at their checkpoint about 10.30pm on Wednesday.
When they caught up with it, about 1.5 kilometres down the road, the car was in the Pran Buri River, about 25 metres below the road. There was no one in it.
Police saw two drunk Myanmar men walking on the roadside. They admitted they were in the crashed car and had survived and escaped the plunge into the river. Their fishing boat had berthed by the Pran Buri River on Wednesday.
They and a third colleague had travelled in their employer's car to a party at a pineapple factory.
They told police they did not stop at the checkpoint because they had been drinking and their employer kept all their documents.
The police have not yet found the third man.
