Fish of the Week: Brotherly love and help with a personal-best northern pike

Madden Parker had help when he caught his personal best northern pike of 39 inches earlier this month on Minnesota’s Vermilion Lake.

“[He was] being coached on reeling this beauty in by his brother Matthew,” their mother Carrie Parker emailed.

Madden, 13, and Matthew, 17, are from Orland Park.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and their stories (the stories matter, as this one shows) around Chicago fishing, runs Wednesdays in the Sun-Times.
