Firuza Sharipova has shown off the cuts and bruises she suffered in her world title fight with Katie Taylor.
The Kazakh fighter put in a spirited performance against the undisputed lightweight champion, losing via unanimous decision after the three judges scored the bout 98-92, 97-92 and 96-93 in Taylor's favour.
A photo uploaded to Instagram shows a number of bruises on Sharipova's face, as well as a couple of plasters on her left side.
Taylor described the 27-year-old as an "awkward" opponent, but said she was "a great fighter".
The 2012 Olympic champion commented: "I knew coming into this fight that she was a great fighter, technically very good. She was a good amatuer as well so I was expecting a tough fight tonight.
"I think everyone else was overlooking this opponent but we certainly weren't."
She added: "She's a great fighter and I had a lot of respect for her coming into this fight as well."

But Taylor admitted that her own performance was "no masterclass".
She said: "It was no masterclass by any means, but a win is a win and these opponents can be nearly banana skin type of opponents as well so the most important thing is just getting the win. I knew this was going to set up a huge year for me next year. The mandatory challengers are always tricky opponents.
"It was an okay performance. It certainly wasn't a masterclass. She was an awkward opponent. She was holding a lot inside as well. It was harder to get my shots off."
