First words from Lloyd Isgrove after Bolton Wanderers winger signs new contract

Bolton Wanderers winger Lloyd Isgrove has committed his future to the club by signing a two-year contract extension.

The club had been in discussions with Isgrove since earning promotion from League Two, with the 28-year-old becoming an integral part of Ian Evatt's plans.

Isgrove signed a one-year deal with the club in September 2020, scoring three and registering two assists in 32 appearances as Bolton secured an immediate return to League One.

And now Isgrove, a product of Southampton's famed academy, will be staying at the University of Bolton stadium for an additional two years, a prospect that the player admits he is delighted with.

“I’m delighted and I couldn’t be more excited for the new season to start," Isgrove told the official club website.

“When I signed for this club I knew it wasn’t where it should be in League Two. So, to take this little step in the right direction has been amazing for me.

“I am really looking forward to getting going for next season.”

Manager Ian Evatt added: “Izzy has earnt his new deal and I’m delighted for him. He’s larger than life as a character and is a big part of the dressing room.

“Towards the end of the season he started to add goals to his game, which was very pleasing.”
