First West Dunbartonshire declaration in - SNP hold

West Dunbartonshire councillor Marie McNair says it is an honour to be elected as the new MSP for Clydebank and Milngavie.

The constituency saw a 70.8 percent turnout with Marie racking up almost 17,800 votes.

She beat Douglas McAllister from Scottish Labour who received 12,513 votes.

In her victory speech Marie said she will "put recovery first".

She added: "I am honoured to be elected as MSP for Clydebank and Milngavie. I will work extremely hard to the best of my ability.

"It's a pleasure to take over from Gil Paterson. I appreciate everything he has done for this constituency."

She also thanked all election staff for their hard work.
