A derelict post office is to be turned into a Turkish Baths - making it the only one of its kind in Wales.
Situated a short distance from the five star Celtic Manor Resort in Newport - which previously had one situated inside the city's long defunct nearby Stow Hill public baths - the amenity will also include massage rooms and a sauna.
The venture - be the first standalone service of its kind in the city - was given recently given the green light to open next the Toby Carvery on Chepstow Road after council planners resolved their initial concerns over possible parking issues.

The former post office will be demolished to make room for the new two-storey building which will offer an ornate Middle Eastern variant of a steam bath or Scandinavian sauna.
Also called a hamam, a Turkish bath involves lying on heated marble tiles in a hot and humid room while you're exfoliated and massaged before being washed clean with hot water.
Whilst other venues in Wales - like the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff - offer a similar detoxifying fix as part of its facilities, this will be the nearest standalone experience outside of cities like Liverpool and London.

"I've been looking to open something like this for quite a long time - the location is great because it’s right next to the M4 and the Celtic Manor Resort," says Hasan Cetin, whose shop - Ozzy's Barbers - will relocate from the city's Maindee area to offer additional haircutting and grooming services to those who visit the baths.
"It’s something new for Newport and I think it will be good for the city. The closest authentic Turkish baths are in London so this will the first in Wales," he adds.
Meanwhile, here's a very different kind of detox:
The baths will accommodate two customers at a time only, with appointments lasting up to an hour.
Once opened the baths will run from Monday to Saturday between 12 noon an 10pm.
