First-time buyer spots flat for £60K – but Google Street View puts him off

A first-time buyer who found a property for a bargain price was taken aback by what he saw after searching for it on Google Street View.

Darren Connell was over the moon when he finally found a house within his budget, a one-bedroom flat in Glasgow for £60,000.

But, before he decided to take the plunge, he had a scroll around on the Google navigation app to find out why it was so cheap and was greeted with something rather unusual.

When he made it to the house for sale, he spotted a police officer leaving the property with a letter in his hand.

The odd appearance left poor Darren thinking "something wasn't right" and forced him to continue his search for his dream home.

Posting to his 12,500 followers on his Twitter, where he's known as @DarrenConnell87, the Scottish funnyman had to share the discovery with his fans.

He said: "I've been trying my best to save for a flat/house and found somewhere that was cheap."

Darren added: "It makes me think that something wasn't right.

"So I checked the Google Maps of it and this was the first photo."

Since sharing the tweet, the post has gone viral racking up hundreds of likes and dozens of comments.

One person said: "You won the internet today. I'm still lol-ing. I reckon you should take it btw. It's a sure sign. At least you know you'd have people there to help unpack your boxes."

Another said: "wrongmove.co.uk"

"What a bargain, front door security and all," wrote a third.

While a fourth joked: "He might just be investigating an overly squeaky gate."
