'First-Time Buyer's Club' Renewed For Second Season By OWN

Second season of YLE series 'The Short Fuse' announced

'First-Time Buyer's Club,' the unscripted series that follows teacher-turned-realtor Amina Stevens as she assists first-time homebuyers, has been greenlit for a second season by the Oprah Winfrey Network. The upcoming season is set to commence production later this year, with an anticipated premiere in 2024.

OWN's president, Tina Perry, expressed enthusiasm for the show's renewal, citing its alignment with the network's mission to empower viewers in various aspects of their lives, including the pursuit of homeownership. Perry highlighted Amina's role in showcasing that owning a home represents more than mere property possession; it symbolizes the realization of one's aspirations and the establishment of a stable foundation.

'First-Time Buyer's Club' is described as a candid exploration of the intricate process of entering homeownership for the first time, regardless of the individual's life stage. Amina serves as a reliable ally and advisor, offering guidance through each phase of the home-buying journey while imparting knowledge and motivation. The show's overarching goal is to promote wealth creation and address housing disparities within the Black community.

The series made its debut in December 2023 and quickly gained popularity, emerging as the top-rated original cable program on Saturday nights among key African American demographics, excluding sports content. Produced by Red Arrow Industries, the show's initial 10-episode season recently concluded its run on OWN and is also available for streaming on Max.
