First sign to be on fund allocation for Dalit education, says Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said the first signature of the Congress government would be on allocation of highest budget for education of Dalits and Girijans in the state.

Exuding confidence of coming to power in 2023, Revanth said educating SCs and STs was crucial for their development and not just the welfare schemes.

“SCs and STs should become doctors, engineers, lawyers, IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS officers and judges. They should reach to such heights that they should start framing the laws of the country,” he said while addressing a well-attended gathering on the conclusion of the two-day Dalita Girijana Atma Gaurava deeksha at Mudu Chintalapally in Malkajgiri Parliament constituency.

Revanth went to the extent of stating that irrespective of any leader becoming CM in the Congress government, the first sign would be on the file for allocating the highest budget for education to SCs and STs. “I am not craving to become CM. I am thankful to Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka for giving me the TPCC president’s post,” he said.

Revanth also said Pragati Bhavan would be transformed into Dr BR Ambedkar Bahujan Bhavan once a Congress government comes to power. “It is from this bhavan that SCs and STs will achieve greater glory,” he said. Revanth announced that Congress will organise a Dalita Girijana Atma Gaurava Dandora meeting in Gajwel constituency, represented by KCR. “No one can stop us,” he said.
