First row on I'm A Celebrity as tensions build

There's been lots of fun and laughter since the 20th series of I'm A Celebrity hit our screens just over a week ago.

But tonight's (November 23) instalment saw tensions rise during the first quarrel, which started over cleaning pots and pans.

The ITV programme is being filmed this year at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Wales, and the mood there has noticeably changed tonight.

Campmates were given specific tasks to fulfill, which resulted in cross contestants, reports Manchester Evening News.

Former Strictly Come Dancer pro AJ Pritchard said to Olympic runner Sir Mo Farah and author Giovanna Fletcher that he couldn’t boil water because the pots and pans hadn’t been washed, and he asked ex EastEnders actor Shane Richie to clean some pots.

But in retaliation Shane said he couldn't clean the pots without hot water.

Talking about Shane in the Telegraph, AJ said: “His response was 'I need boiling water to do the washing up.' "Well we need pots and pans to do the boiling water.”

Salford tenor Russell Watson said: “Mood today in camp is a little different than it has been the past few days. Everyone has been given specific tasks and there’s been a little of needle, ‘have you done this’, ‘have you done that’.”

Shane said: “I need hot water, I left them to soak last night, all ready to be cleaned but I need hot water.”

And AJ replied: “But you’ve left them in the pan that does the hot water.”

Shane looked at TV presenter Vernon Kay as AJ walked away and said: “This ain’t working for me, the waiting for someone to do that.”

He said about the tension: “This is where people get p**** with each other.”

Talking in the Telegraph, Shane said: “I needed water and someone’s gotta fetch the water and someone’s gotta heat the water and unless I’m barking order I didn’t want to wash dirty plates and pans in cold water.”

Giovanna said: “One thing we’re finding difficult is everyone had chores allocated. Everyone’s getting on with it, possibly some more reluctantly than others.”

Dozens of viewers took to Twitter to discuss the drama.

"The cracks are starting to show," said another.

"Camp is started to break over chores," said another fan.

"When that drama kicks in," commented another.

And another mused: "They were all best mates yesterday."
