First Potential Juror Passes Questionnaire In High-Profile Trial

Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. President Trump campaigns in Reno

During the jury selection process for an ongoing trial, the first potential juror has successfully completed the questionnaire. This individual, who works in the real estate industry and is a parent of two children, disclosed that they have read Donald Trump's book 'The Art of the Deal.' Additionally, due to their professional background, they have connections with individuals who are acquainted with the former president.

Despite these associations, the prospective juror assured the court that their opinions and decision-making would remain impartial and unaffected by these relationships. They emphasized that their familiarity with individuals linked to Trump would not sway their judgment in any way.

Following this statement, Judge Juan Merchan acknowledged the juror's disclosure and proceeded to the next individual in line for questioning. With three more potential jurors remaining to undergo the questionnaire, the selection process is ongoing.
