First PlayStation 5 console hands-on images show mysterious bolt

It’s one of the most eagerly anticipated gaming consoles of 2020, and now the first hands-on images of the PlayStation 5 have been posted.

4gamer has published photos of the PlayStation 5 standing both vertically and horizontally, showing how the stand can hold the console in place in either position.

However, one photo in particular has garnered interest, thanks to a mysterious bolt.

The nut or bolt can be seen when peering into the PS5's casing on the upper right.

While the reason for the bolt remains unclear, The Verge suggest that it could allow you to remove the outer shell and access its innards, where the expandable SSD slot could be housed.

Sony is still yet to show how and where this slot can be accessed.

Thankfully, there’s not long to wait before keen fans can get their hands on the PlayStation 5 themselves.

The official release date is November 12, with fans in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand South Korea able to get their hands on the console on that date.
