First pictures show scale of A4174 lorry crash near McDonald's - police statement

These pictures show the scale of a lorry which overturned, closing a stretch of the A4174 in Bristol.

Police have issued a statement after the crash at the Kingsfield Roundabout, near McDonald's at Aspects Leisure Park, in Longwell Green, at around 10am this morning (May 17).

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said in a statement: "A road closure is currently in place at the A4174 at Longwell Green while emergency services attend the scene of a single vehicle RTC, in which a lorry has overturned.

"The incident happened shortly before 10am today (Monday, May 17).

"Enquiries are ongoing at the scene but there are not thought to be any life-threatening injuries at the current time.

"A traffic lane is expected to re-open shortly to ease congestion, but motorists are advised to seek an alternative route where possible."

Traffic site Inrix said: "A4174 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to overturned lorry from A4 Bath Road (Hicks Gate Roundabout, Hanham Mills) to Wraxall Road (Woodstock Roundabout, Warmley).
