Pictures of the adorable youngster have been left amongst floral tributes near his Edinburgh home by heartbroken friends, loved ones and neighbours.

One handwritten card read: "Sleep tight little man. May you rest in peace."

Another said: "Taken far too soon. RIP little one. Fly high with the angels."

A third added: "RIP little man. Fly high with the angels. Thoughts are with your mummy and family."

A fourth, written in Polish, read: "The best expression of pain is silence. Rest in peace angel."

Police Scotland Detective Chief Inspector Lynn McFall said: "I’d like to thank the local people in the Muirhouse community for their help during this inquiry. This was an isolated incident."
