First pictures of Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park as Everton manager job confirmed

Carlo Ancelotti has been pictured at Goodison Park today ahead of taking over as Everton manager.

The Italian has sealed a four-and-a-half year deal to become the new Blues boss.

Duncan Ferguson has been in charge as interim manager since the sacking of Marco Silva.

Big Dunc will continue in the dugout today for the game against Arsenal in the Premier League.

Ferguson was initially told his caretaker reign would only be for the match with Chelsea.

But following that 3-1 win, he has remained in position for the draw with Manchester United, the Carabao Cup quarter-final with Leicester City and the Arsenal tie this afternoon.

Ancelotti's first game in charge is set to be the Boxing Day clash with Burnley.

The 60-year-old was recently sacked by Napoli after a mixed start to the season, but he won the double with Chelsea in a previous stint in the Premier League.

Speaking on the situation the new boss will inherit, Ferguson said: “We've got a lot of good players, a lot of good international players but the confidence was down.

“We've lifted that and that's a good base for him to continue that.

"We've changed the shape – I don't know if he'll stick with the shape – but we've got two strikers up the pitch now and I think he'll like that."

Ancelotti has had a glittering career in management so far which has seen him win the Champions League three times, with two different clubs.
