First pictures inside the biggest Primark on the planet

These are the first photos from inside the world’s biggest Primark store, which opens in the Midlands on Thursday.

The five-storey shop in High Street, Birmingham, was opened to special guests on Monday, reports BirminghamLive.

It will officially open its doors to the public for the first time at 10am on Thursday.

Among the lucky Primark Friends and Family members who got the sneak peak was one shopper who predicted the new addition was even better that the city’s Bullring shopping centre.

They said: "No expense has been spared - it's going to take on the Bullring as the city's number one shopping destination.

"It's an amazing shop compared with what was here before.

"The new Disney cafe has even got interactive tables for children to play with."

The store features digital window displays, a t-shirt printing workshop and a whole range of products dedicated to Harry Potter.

Another of the first guests to be invited inside on Monday said: "You can get official Disney printed t-shirts, with children's sizes just £5 before you start to add your own text below an image of your favourite character.

This stunning Aldi garden sofa is much cheaper than its rivals 

"It's the same with official Barcelona t-shirts, which could be 30 or 40 euros abroad but which I think will be less than £10 here.

"The shop is truly transformational. It will be the top destination in Birmingham.

"Children will love going through the Disney archways shaped like Mickey Mouse ears on their way in to the themed cafe."

What else is there? 

  • The store includes a Mills barbers and Duck & Dry Xpress Beauty Studio where you can get an 'instant' new hair do 
  • The main changing area has 32 cubicles 
  • And if you want to learn a few things about Brum, just look at the walls. Facts about the city on the walls include: "Birmingham has a population of 1.1 million making it the second most populous city in the UK 
  • The clothes the new mannequins are wearing suggest Primark thinks this season's favourite colours will include yellows, greens, creams and brown 
  • You will be able to buy I Love Birmingham T-shirts for around £5

The Moor Street Queensway entrance has also just been unveiled to the many people have a look through the windows. It has a beige, marble-like finish on the rectangular frame over three shutters next to the city's main bus lane.

From the bus stops you can see into Mills barbers.

The glass doors at all of the main entrances sport the major social media logos including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube with the line 'Wi-Fi is on the house'.

Taking things back

If you want a refund or get an exchange on a product, Primark is going to try to make it as easy as possible and you will be able to do that at any till in the store.

Gone are the old department store days of trying to find the place where you could do such a thing.

World's biggest Primark - floor by floor: 

Confusingly, the floor numbers go from -2 to 2. That's because the Moor Street Queensway entrance is a long way below the High Street entrance.

Floor 2: Kids, lingerie, Primark cafe with Disney, toilets

Floor 1: Womens - clothing, accessories, shoes, home items, tech and toys

Floor 0: Womens - clothing, beauty, Duck & Dry Xpress Beauty Studio
