First picture of tragic teenage girl killed by car while crossing road in Paisley

Tributes have poured in for the "little angel" who was tragically killed afer being hit by a car in Paisley.

The 15-year-old, who has been named locally as Robyn Fryar, was crossing Glenburn Road with pals near to Fereneze Drive in the Renfrewshire town when she was struck.

The teenager, who was with four friends, was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where she died a short time later.

On Facebook, Emma-Louise McGoldrick said: "Can’t believe it, what a heart of gold this little angel had every time I spoke to her. Fly high pretty angel."

Amy Pursley said: "Rest in peace Robyn. Always a happy go lucky girlie and you'll always be remembered!! Such a cruel world this is."

Alanna Speirs also posted to Facebook: "RIP Robyn. You were loved by everyone."

Connie Chisholm said "Shine bright Robyn" and Dylan McIntyre added: "RIP Robyn."

Elise Day described her as an "angel" while Ellie-May Wakenshaw continued "rest easy Robyn."

Molly Hannah also took to social media to pay her respects. She said: "Rest easy gorgeous. Won't be a day that goes by that I'll forget you.

Darren Rafferty went on: "Such a shame. RIP Robyn."

Ellie Meechan shared to Instagram: "Fly high gorgeous girl. I love you so much."

Pal Abby Stables said: "Never did I think I would be saying this this soon but rest easy gorgeous. I love you and I still can't believe it. I've known you since nursery. I love you."

Robyn's family are aware of the tragedy and being supported by specialist police officers.

Detective Inspector Allan Kelly of Paisley CID urged those with any information related to the accident to come forward.

A man was later arrested following Robyn's death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police have arrested a 20-year-old man following a road crash in Paisley in which a teenage girl died.

"Around 2am this morning, a 15-year-old girl was crossing Glenburn Road near to Fereneze Drive, Paisley, when she was struck by a car.

"She was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where she died a short time later. Her family are aware and being supported by police.

"Enquiries into the incident are continuing."
