Police have released the names of two people killed in a horror car crash in Glasgow.

David Campbell, 54, and Allison Campbell, 51, died after their BMW smashed into the barrier on the M8 eastbound carriageway, near the junction with Great Western Road, on Sunday.

We told how emergency crews raced to the scene when the alarm was raised at around 2.40pm.

But, tragically, the motorists could not be saved.

Police continue to probe the crash and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant John Bradford from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with David and Allison’s family at this sad time. I would ask that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

“Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or have any information that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch.

“Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on the 101 number, quoting incident 2002 of 18 October.”
