First picture of teenage boy killed in horror Glasgow crash as police name victim

Police have named a teenage boy killed in a horror crash in Glasgow.

Jay Morrison, 19, died following the accident on Nitshill Road, near its junction with Levern Bridge Road at around 11.35pm on Friday, September 17.

Jay, from Barrhead in East Renfrewshire, was just 19-year-old.

We told how emergency services raced to the incident after a red Vauxhall Corsa crashed and left the road.

Ambulance crews attended and Jay was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to what was described as "serious injuries".

He died in the early hours of Saturday, September 18.

Police are appealing for information following the horror incident.

Sergeant Kenny Malaney, of Police Scotland’s Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Morrison at this difficult time.

"Our enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 4182 of Friday, September 17."
