First picture of suspected serial flasher terrorising Ayrshire schoolgirls as undercover cops drafted in

An image of a suspected ‘serial flasher’ targeting school pupils has emerged as undercover cops have been drafted in to catch him.

Marr College in Troon are working with police to help catch a middle aged man dressed in all black.

On Tuesday it was reported that the flasher indecently exposed himself to pupils walking at Golf Crescent.

Other incidents have been reported around the Yorke Road and Willockston Road areas before school starts at 8.45am.

Cops are probing Tuesday’s incident at Golf Crescent which occurred around 8.35am and have pledged extra patrols on the streets surrounding Marr College, including non-uniformed officers.

Senior staff at the secondary school have written to panicked parents as they work to make sure pupils feel safe on their commute.

The flasher is described as a white male, late 40s to early 50s, 6ft tall, slim athletic build, wearing a black skull cap, black running jacket and black shorts, which are "Pearl Izumi" and black trainers.

An image has now been circulated of the suspected flasher on the loose matching the description given.

It is understood some parents are walking their kids to the school in the wake of the incidents.

And those parents have been left furious by the repeat indecent exposures.

A mum, who claims her daughter was a victim of the horrifying flashing incidents, told Ayrshire Live : “As a parent of three children in Marr and two girls, it’s really upsetting and disturbing these attacks are still happening targeting girls walking to school.

“It’s a sad situation when parents can’t be confident their girls can walk safely to school.”

A letter to parents from headteacher Mr George Docherty reads: “We are aware of further incidents of alleged indecent exposure near the school and in the local area and have been working closely with Police Scotland over the past week.

“Previously, a CCTV image was circulated via the press and social media; however, there has not yet been a positive identification made and officers continue their attempts to apprehend the individual.

“School staff, PC Harrower and both plain clothed and uniformed officers continue to monitor the areas around the school grounds to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff.

“Incidents have been reported on the cycle track adjacent to school and around the York Road and Willockston Road areas before school begins at 8.45am.

“The description of the person is white male, late 40s to early 50s 6ft tall slim athletic build, wearing a black skull cap, black running jacket and black shorts, which are "Pearl Izumi" and black trainers.

“Police Scotland have advised that any young people or adults who witness incidents should immediately dial 999 and report the matter to the police.

“Members of the senior leadership team, PC Harrower and Guidance staff remain on hand to provide support and advice to any students with concerns regarding these incidents.

“If anyone has any information that could help with enquiries then please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0486 of Tuesday, November 23, or make a call anonymously to the charity."

Inspector Ian McColl said : “We received a report of a man indecently exposing himself at Golf Crescent in Troon at around 8.35am on Tuesday, November 23.

“Officers are carrying out extra patrols in the area in effort to reassure the public along with carrying out extensive enquiries in an effort to identify this man.

“I would ask the public to report anyone in the area acting suspiciously to Police Scotland on 101.”
