First picture of pensioner who died with head injuries in north London home

This is the first picture of a pensioner who died after being found by police with head injuries at his north London home.

Anthony Rooks, 79, died at his home in Dalmeny Road, Holloway, at 7.20pm on Monday.

Police are investigating what triggered the fatal incident.

A Met spokesman said: "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The 79-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Detectives believe that the victim and suspect were known to each other, but retain an open mind regarding any motive at this time. Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing."

Sable Thomas, 42, was appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ court today charged with murder.
