First picture of NHS nurse Liz Glanister and 'work mum' who died of coronavirus

This is the first picture of a beloved NHS nurse and grandmother who died after testing positive for coronavirus.

Liz Glanister was hailed by heartbroken colleagues at Liverpool's Aintree University Hospital, where she was a mentor and "work mum" to younger nurses.

The 68-year-old, who vowed to continue working into retirement age, is one of at least 10 frontline NHS staff to die during the Covid-19 crisis, which has claimed almost 5,000 lives in the UK as of Monday morning.

Her devastated colleagues, former cancer patients and friends have paid tribute to her on Facebook, with one man writing: "You didn’t deserve this after all the people that you have saved and cared for."
