Police have named a man who died after a 'serious assault' in an East Dunbartonshire town.
Robert Cunningham, from Kirkintilloch, was raced to hospital after the incident on Braehead Street in his hometown on Saturday, August 22.
The 29-year-old died yesterday at Glasgow Royal Infirmary following the incident at around 8am.
Two men, aged 31 and 28, have been charged in connection with the alleged serious assault and a third has been arrested by officers from Police Scotland.
Detective Inspector Steven Watson, of Kirkintilloch CID, said: “Our thoughts are with Robert’s family and friends at this time.
“Following an investigation led by detectives, we were able to charge two men in connection with this incident.”
The two men are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
A third man, aged 35, has also been arrested in connection with the incident.
