First picture of Connor Dockerty who was murdered outside Huyton shopping parade

The family of a 23-year-old man who was stabbed to death outside a shopping parade have released a photo of him.

The devastated family of Connor Dockerty released the photo this afternoon as the identity of the Litherland man was confirmed by police.

Mr Dockerty was riding his black Ghost bike along Kingsway, Huyton, just before 8pm, on Monday, shortly before the killing.

He was in or close to Gentwoods News and Convenience Store when it is believed he became involved in an argument with a younger boy.

Witnesses watched in horror as a teenager confronted Connor, throwing a red bike at him, which knocked him over.

The killer then produced two knives and used one of them to stab the 23-year-old repeatedly to his body as he lay on the floor.

Detectives have arrested four children on suspicion of murder - two boys, aged 15, a girl, 15 and a boy, aged 14.

They are in custody and are being questioned on suspicion of murdering Mr Dockerty.

A post mortem examination revealed he died from multiple stab wounds.

Mr Dockerty's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

An investigation is ongoing and detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone who has any information to come forward.

Detectives are keen to piece together the last movements of the victim before he was viciously knifed on Kingsway.
