The distraught family of an young boy killed in a fall at a playground have paid tribute to him.
Logan Carter, 12, was discovered with serious injuries at Wharton Recreation Ground off Ledward Street, Winsford, Cheshire, at around 6.11pm on Friday
It is understood the youth fell from playground apparatus while playing.
He was treated by paramedics but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Cheshire Police is investigating the circumstances around the boy’s injuries.
In a post on social media, Logan’s grieving father Rob said: “All I can say to people is hold your kids and tell them every day how much you love them because you never know when they will be gone.”
He went on to say: “When I woke up on Friday my little mate I didn’t think that would be the last time I get to see you.
“My mate my heart as been ripped in two I will never forget you my mate sleep tight up there... I’ll see you one day at them gates mate love you so much Logan, forever 12."
Logan's mother Carys Jane has not yet spoken about her son’s death.
An online fundraiser to help the family has already raised over £8,000 in just five hours.
The GoFundMe page was set up by family friend Samantha Morana, who said: “Something no parent should have to go through is losing their child.
“I am hoping as a community we can raise some funds to help take the stress off Carys and Rob at this difficult time and help them give Logan the send-off that he deserves.”
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to Logan’s death in Wharton Recreation Ground.
Detective Sergeant John Rhodes said: “This was a deeply tragic incident involving a very young victim and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the boy who sadly died at the scene.
“As part of our investigation into this incident, we are asking anyone who may have been in or around the Wharton Recreation Ground area just off Ledward Street in Winsford at around the time of the incident and saw anything that may aid us in our enquiries, to please get in touch.
“At this stage I would also like to ask the public not to feed into any speculation, particularly on social media, as this remains an ongoing investigation.”
