First picture of Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds at secret wedding

Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds have released the first photo from their secret wedding ceremony.

The pair tied the knot at Westminster Cathedral yesterday afternoon, with just 30 guests said to be in attendance.

The 56-year-old is the first serving Prime Minister to marry while in office for almost two centuries.

Pictures released show the happy couple cuddling up to each other during the ceremony.

Carrie wore a long white dress with no veil while the Prime Minister wore a black suit with blue tie. Some witnesses said that Johnson looked "dapper".

It’s claimed that the big day was a culmination of a ‘cloak and dagger operation last six months.

Johnson and Symonds will hold another ceremony next year to celebrate with their family and friends.

A Number 10 spokesperson said: “The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds were married yesterday afternoon in a small ceremony at Westminster Cathedral. The couple will celebrate their wedding with family and friends next summer.”

Details of their wedding emerged last night, days after the Prime Minister’s former chief advisor made a string of explosive claims about his government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dominic Cummings said that Johnson was ‘unfit for office’ when he appeared in before MPs on Wednesday.
